Ich bin ein Berliner

Berlin is still super sweet. and super hot.

Today we woke up and went down to the Zoo! We have a habit of waking up super early so we were one of the first people there and had the animals to ourselves! Our favorites were the Jaguars, Giraffes, Penguins, the gigantic fish! and of course the monkeys (alexs favorite was sitting close in front of the cage, like a little person on a chair falling asleep. so cute)
After that we went to the bombed out church. the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche
Pretty amazing. Its huge! And interesting to see the living destruction. After that we walked down to Ka De We, the department store second only in size to Harrods, and roamed around. We then wandered off in the West and found a street that was like the Champs in Paris. It had Louis Vuitton, YSL, Prada...etc etc etc. We wandered and found a couple of the shops we wrote down from books. We had dinner at a sidewalk cafe. We both had sausages and sour kraut. Then we sat at Häagen-dazs, the chocolate extreme or chocolate lovers...whatever it was it was delicious!!! Chocolate chocolate chip ice cream and belgium chocolate fudge and whip creme. Yum. Tomorrow we are meeting up with Melanie so she can show us where to shop and where the locals go! I love knowing people all around the world, it makes each place that much cooler.
I love Berlin and the graffiti everywhere and the random really bizarre outfits and the history and the sites and the streets. Its been amazing. And yet theres more to come! We are so lucky!!
